In order to identify the energy centers as they correspond with the functionality of the body, I have listed the outline of the 7 major systems below.

ROOT = KIDNEYS, BOWELS & MALE REPRODUCTIVE

The region of the body that corresponds to the Root includes the (male) reproductive system, bone marrow, life force (directs energy throughout the rest of the body), small intestines, and lower extremities. This is also responsible for the anal region and waste elimination system. This system connects directly to the Medulla & Cortex. It is the initiator of all change within the human body.

Signs of Imbalance. The physical manifestations of a blocked Root may manifest in kidney, bowel and spinal problems. Here are a few of the diagnostic signs:

• Congestion & Blockage

• Disorders of the Waste Elimination

• Bone Marrow Dis-eases

• Stiffness

• Tension of the Spine, Neck, & Colon

• Emotional Suppression

• Constipation

• Asthma (due to weak chi)

• Excreting turbid matter/gas

The Root must also work in harmony with the 2nd energy center (Sacral). The Sacral region represents the organs that govern the processes of absorption, assimilation, and retention.

SACRAL = FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE, SMALL INTESTINES & URINARY TRACT

The region of the body that corresponds to the Sacral includes the (female) reproductive system, appendix, small intestine, large intestine, liver, breasts, buttocks and urinary tract. This energy center is located at the base of the lumbar and is the seat of sexuality. Its physical correspondence relates to the hormonal function of the leydig cells within the testes and ovaries. This is directly connected to libido and sex drive within males and females. 

Signs of Imbalance. The physical manifestations of a blocked Sacral may manifest into fibroids in women. Other issues of the reproductive system may arise. Here are a few of the diagnostic signs:

This region must work in harmony with the Root for the body to maintain a state of equilibrium. For example, if there is too much waste in the colon from constipation, there can be a buildup of toxicity within the body. Therefore, these energy centers need adequate vital flow in order to maintain proper health.

SOLAR PLEXUS = DIGESTIVE SYSTEM & ADRENAL GLANDS

This region is commonly called The Second Brain. It governs the stomach, liver, gallbladder, spleen, adrenal glands, lumbar vertebrae, and the digestive system. The Solar Plexus provides nutritive subtle energy to all of the major organs involved in digestion and purification. It is also the seat of anger, aggression and fear, leading to overindulgence, carelessness, narcissism, wastefulness, and addiction. From an emotional and spiritual perspective, this area is linked to the issue of personal power (having control over one’s life). The inner feeling of powerlessness and a sense of a lack of control in one’s life directly affects the energy flow. 

Signs of Imbalance. Reactions between this energy center and the heart causes congestion in the Solar plexus that has a profound effect on the bloodstream and brings about a proliferation of tissue, creating tumors of a malignant nature. Here are a few of the diagnostic signs:

• Eczema & other skin disorders

• Ulcers

• Cancer

• Liver, Stomach, Gallbladder Disorders

• Imbalances of Lymphatic Circulation

• Disorders of eyes, fingers, and toenails

Dysfunction of this energy center is one of the most common causes of cancer. The solar plexus provides the rest of the body with vital energy and is the source of power that determines the biochemical make-up of the individual.

HEART = CIRCULATORY & ANS

The region of the body is associated with the heart, kidneys and tendons. The physical link to this energy center is the Thymus Gland (heart), and the entire circulatory system. The hormones produced by the Thymus Gland called “thymosin,” influences an individual’s ability to fight off disease and infection throughout their entire life by stimulating the activity of different types of T-lymphocytes.

Signs of Imbalance. Reduction of this energy flow coming into the Heart can contribute to coronary artery disease, heart attacks, and strokes. Here are a few diagnostic signs:

• Circulatory Problems

• Vagus Nerves

• Autonomic Nervous System disorders

THROAT = THYROID, PARATHYROID & RESPIRATORY

The region is located at the front/back of the neck, reaching up into the medulla oblongata. This region has influence over the major glands in the neck such as the thyroid and parathyroid glands, the mouth, vocal cords, lungs, as well as the cervical vertebrae. It also governs the entire alimentary canal.

Signs of Imbalance. Abnormalities may cause a multitude of symptoms such as vertigo, fatigue, sore throat, laryngitis, gland tumors, and asthma. Here are a few diagnostic signs:

• Emphysema

• Bronchitis

• Sinus

• Endocrine Imbalances

• Pulmonary and Respiratory Diseases

• Allergies

• Disorder of Blood Vessel Circulation

THIRD EYE = EYES, SINUSES & PINEAL GLAND

The region of the body is located between the eyebrows, the area of the pineal gland. It is also associated with the spinal cord, eyes, ears, nose, and sinuses. Over stimulation can result in major endocrine imbalances.

Signs of Imbalance. Physical imbalances usually manifest as horrible sinus problems that are chronic in nature. Chronic headaches are also a sign of imbalance in the Third Eye. Here are a few of the diagnostic signs:

• Hayfever

• Migraines

• Sinus Problems

• Cataracts

The energetic relation to the Third Eye is the ability to see within and is associated with the “integrated personality.” This center is one of the energetic links to intuition and is gradually developed through meditation.Balance in this center gives the person vision and inward awareness to see the causes between the outer and inner worlds, the aspects of duality in nature.

CROWN = SPINE, NEURO & CNS

The crown is located at the top of the head and facilitates the emotional and spiritual development of a human. On the physical level it is connected to the pituitary gland and the cerebral cortex & nervous system. When it is balanced, synchronization of the left and right hemispheres of the brain is achieved.

Signs of Imbalance. Disruption in the flow of energy to this center can manifest diseases such as hypertension, certain forms of brain diseases, nervous disorders, and psychological problems. Here are a few of the diagnostic signs:
